Despite Fulham reportedly still being the best placed club to sign André from Fluminense, there is some competition for him.

The Craven Cottage side aren’t the only interested ones in the Brazilian, as Lyon, who have John Textor as their owner, are also lurking around.

In fact, L’Equipe report that the Ligue 1 side have made ‘an approach’ for the Fulham target, although the news that follows will delight Marco Silva and co.

That’s because the €30m+ asking price is seen as ‘unsurmountable’ by the French team, meaning that someone like Ismaïl Yuksek from Fenerbahçe might be a better choice for them.

We will now have to wait and see what happens between Fulham, Fluminense and André in the next few days, because time is running out for the Craven Cottage residents if they want to get a midfielder in before the end of the transfer window.

The Premier League club have been after the Brazilian since the summer, but never managed to get a deal over the line, as the player wanted to finish his campaign with his current club, in the process perhaps scuppering a chance of a big move to England.

Only time will tell…
