Leeds United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Serbian target Aleksandar Prijovic, after the forward committed himself to PAOK.
The player was linked with Leeds United in the last transfer window.
It’s been confirmed Prijovic has signed a four year deal with PAOK, despite attention from other clubs, including Leeds United.
Speaking to Sport24, the Serbia international said he was happy he’s signed a new deal with the Greek side: “I am happy that PAOK and the owner have shown faith in me, indeed it has been interesting, but that is over, I am now dedicated to PAOK, and I am prepared to stay for many years at PAOK.”
PAOK have continuously rejected approaches from foreign clubs to sign Prijovic, and last week turned down a €9m offer from Chinese club Henan Jianye.
It also means Leeds United would have to look elsewhere if they want to bring in a forward in the next transfer window, but it was likely they were doing so anyway.
With the uncertainty of the future of Piere-Michel Lassoga, theclub have already been building a series of options.
