VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE: Since we published this story, L’Equipe have changed their story quite considerably, and have taken out some key points from their article, now stating Leeds are being challenged by an ‘unnamed Brazilian side’.

It’s now made clear there is ‘no agreement’ with Leeds, who have a ‘very strong interest’ in the player, and ‘negotiations are in progress’.

ORIGINAL STORY: As has been widely reported, Lyon are currently facing an onslaught of interest in their players, and Leeds United are adding themselves to the list by being interested in Tetê.

There are two outlets who are reporting this interest, with the first being L’Equipe, who explain that the Brazilian winger ‘will be in England on Friday’ in order to sign for Leeds.

He is being followed by a number of English clubs, but the website claim he ‘should’ sign for the Elland Road club, who are ‘pushing’ to bring him to the team.

In search for a winger in the last few days of the transfer window, the Premier League side have been probing around Europe, and it appears they have settled on the Lyon forward, who is currently on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

This, however, doesn’t mean the Ligue 1 side will receive any compensation, because there is an agreement in the deal that states he ‘can break his loan if he found himself a club’.

He appears to have done that with Leeds, who could be set to welcome another Brazilian winger, in hope of repeating the success that was Raphinha’s transfer from Rennes.

Foot Mercato add a bit more on this, backing up the interest, saying Leeds ‘appreciate his profile and qualities as a scorer and a creator’, although they aren’t as adamant that he is definitely heading to Yorkshire.
