Leeds United forward Luis Sinisterra has admitted he feels ‘very good’ at Elland Road and the reception he has received at the club so far.

Sinisterra arrived at Leeds in a €25m deal from Feyenoord in the summer, with the Whites spending big to find a replacement for Raphinha.

He arrived with a growing reputation following his time in the Netherlands, where he managed 35 goals and 29 assists in 113 games for the club in a four-year spell.

He’s yet to replicate that at Leeds, with just three goals and one assist in 10 games so far but is yet to truly get up and running under Jesse Marsch.

Both a suspension and a foot injury have limited him to just 36% of the available minutes this season, a frustrating figure for a man who was supposed to be a key player moving forwards.

It seems he’s happy with things so far, though, expressing his delight in a conversation with Feyenoord TV.

“It was an important step for me,” he said.

“I feel very good. I’ve been well received there. It’s nice to be back and share these moments with you. I must say they were great years and good work at this wonderful club.

“It’s nice to get recognition for your talent everywhere and to be supported that way. That motivates me every day to do well on and off the pitch. It’s important to be a good player and a good person.”

Sinisterra was not the only Feyenoord player to make the move to the Premier League this summer, with teammate Marcos Senesi also making the switch.

He joined Bournemouth in a €15m deal, joining the Cherries as they spent to improve their squad following promotion from the Championship.

That could have potentially ended any association with Sinisterra but the two have maintained contact following their transfers.

And when asked about his former teammate, Sinisterra admitted that he was pleased to see he would also be moving to England.

“I really liked hearing that,” he added.

“We both had similar goals: namely to play in the Premier League in the long term. So, I was very happy when I heard about his transfer. We are in touch and when we have time we meet up.”
