Having been brought in on two separate occasions on loan from Leeds United by AS Roma, both times under José Mourinho, Diego Llorente looks set to stay in Italy.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who have an article looking at the future of a few players, including the Spanish centre-back.
It’s explained that among the many loanees currently at the Serie A side, the Leeds player ‘has a good chance of staying’.
The reason for that was the affordable option to buy that Tiago Pinto had negotiated with the Elland Road residents last summer, which is of €5m.
Therefore, this makes the Leeds defender an attractive solution for the Italians, who have already been reported as being aware that replacing him would be far more costly than simply ensuring he stays beyond the season.
The 30-year-old has been a key asset under both Mourinho and Daniele De Rossi this season, making 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
