Leeds United have become the latest club to join Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Salernitana’s Lassana Coulibaly.
Last month, we relayed news from Italy about the Tricky Trees wanting the midfielder in January. Their initial approach was not turned down by the Serie A side, but that has not put them off.
Nottingham Forest are still in the mix, along with Leeds. That’s according to Sportitalia, who state the two Premier League sides are interested to sign the 26-year-old.
Both Leeds and Nottingham Forest have already carried out ‘timid surveys’ for the Mali international in December.
However, the Italian club ‘returned the interest to sender’, meaning they did not entertain the approaches made by the Elland Road side and the one managed by Steve Cooper.
If one or both these clubs are still keen to take the player away from Salernitana, they will face an uphill battle because of the Serie A club’s stance.
Coulibaly has one goal and two assists from 16 matches in all competitions this season.
