RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer is refusing to comment on his future amid recent reports regarding interest from Tottenham.

The Austrian midfielder is enjoying a purple patch of form of late, having battled back from something of an injury nightmare last season to star under Domenico Tedesco this season.

His performances have reportedly not gone unnoticed, with a report at the beginning of this month stating that Tottenham are keeping a close eye on him.

That explained that his impressive performance in the 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund had put his name in the notebooks of the Tottenham scouts in attendance.

It seems, though, he is not interested in discussing his future. FAZ today explain that while Tottenham are ‘more interested’ than his other suitors, the player himself is refusing to add fuel to the fire.

The newspaper states that anyone who ‘wants to spoil’ Laimer’s mood would ask him about his future. He either ‘waves off’ the talks or ‘grimaces’, and the sentiment is very much ‘leave me alone with it’ even if he won’t say that directly.

The fact is he ‘does not want to comment on it’ and doesn’t intend to change that stance for a few weeks.

For him, now is ‘simply not the right’ time as his focus is on Leipzig, who are in the Europa League semi-finals, have to play in the DFB Cup final and want to secure Champions League football for next season.

He simply has no interest in discussing the rumours about Tottenham or anyone else, meaning any reports saying otherwise can be dismissed for the time being.
