Konrad Laimer’s impressive displays in RB Leipzig’s 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend has helped him get noticed by Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder scored a brace and registered an assist against BVB at Signal Iduna Park and with that, he took his overall tally to five goals and four assists from 31 matches in all competitions.

His performances for the Bundesliga side this season have seen the 24-year-old end up in the target list of the Premier League sides, including the north London club, according to Bild.

Laimer played both matches against Spurs in the Champions League knockout ties in 2020. According to the report, the Austria international ‘fought his way’ into their scouts’ notebooks after these two matches.

Antonio Conte’s side should bolster their midfield in the summer, especially if they make it to next season’s top European club competition. Bild claim the Austrian could be an option for the English club in the next market.

The player’s contract expires in 2023 and Leipzig would want to hold talks over a new deal. However, Bild state that this will not be done at least until the ongoing season is completed.

Meanwhile, Laimer ‘leaves a trend for the future open’. After the tie against BVB he told ESPN that “there is still enough time for talks after this season…”
