Erling Haaland was relatively quiet, when compared to his awesome standards, during Manchester City’s first leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

It wasn’t a poor performance from the Norway international, but he wasn’t able to have the dominance he often enjoys. A big reason for that was Antonio Rudiger’s performance, and the tactics he used to distract the striker.

Rudiger was very physical with Haaland, and multiple videos came out after the game showing the “dark arts” the German was using.

Naturally, ahead of the decisive second leg on Wednesday, the Spanish media are expecting more of the same.

Monday’s edition of AS labels Rudiger the ‘Kryptonite’ to Haaland. It’s stated the defender, who they nickname ‘Rambo’, made sure there ‘was no sign of the monster’ the player can often be for opposition sides.

Rudiger is often a substitute for Los Blancos, but not against Haaland, with AS saying he has to be in the line-up.The match against Manchester City is seen as the best performance he’s had so far for Real Madrid, since his move from Chelsea.
