Victor Osimhen had an exciting Tuesday. The Lille player flew to Naples for transfer talks and to take a look around the city, with various claims coming from the French and Italian media about a move to the Serie A club.

In France there was talk of Napoli paying a fee as high as €80m, whereas the media closest to Napoli were reporting a fee much closer to €40m.

Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe takes a look at the situation, and brings other clubs into the picture, including Liverpool.

Inter Milan and Real Madrid are also credited with interest, and it’s made clear Osimhen hasn’t yet made a final decision on where he’ll play next. The 21 year old attacker’s situation mirrors that of Nicholas Pepe last summer, who looked set to sign for Napoli… until Arsenal won the race.

L’Equipe say Jurgen Klopp is ‘very interested’ in the signing, and that the transfer fee ‘shouldn’t be a problem’ for Liverpool.

The Reds haven’t made a counter-move to Napoli’s efforts yet, although it’s suggested Klopp’s claim of no big signings could all be part of a game.

L’Equipe believe Napoli could pay as much as €80m before bonuses, an amount which will likely be disputed in Italy.
