At the weekend, Fulham were one of a number of clubs linked with Kenan Kodro. It would have been a very strange rumour to pluck from thin air, so it certainly appeared this one had been pushed to the media.
Initial English claims linked Bolton Wanderers and Bristol City, along with Fulham, but it was the London club who caught attention in Spain. Diario de Navarra were impressed with the interest from ‘classic Premier League club’ Fulham, whilst Bolton and Bristol were almost mentioned in passing.
Kodro, 23 years of age, has a buyout clause of €25m, but no club is ever going to pay such an amount for the Osaunsa player. The centre forward scored seven goals this season, as Osasuna were relegated from La Liga.
In light of the Fulham claims, Marca have published some quotes from the player. Quizzed on the recent rumours, Kodro is quoted as saying: “I’m calm. I have a contract with Osasuna. I’m very happy here.”
Given Fulham’s January search for a striker showed their target list is pretty much endless, it would be no surprise if Kodro is one of the many players on it.
