Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has detailed how happy he is at the club, after arriving from Bayern Munich in the summer.

The Spaniard joined Leeds in a €12m deal from the German giants in the summer transfer window as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who was joining Manchester City.

It brought an end to a two-year stay in Bavaria following a €9m move from Espanyol in 2020, where he had spent eight years working his way up the youth ranks to the first team setup.

His move to Yorkshire represents the first time he has played outside of either Spain or Germany in his career, meaning he’s had to adapt to a whole new way of life, culture, country and more importantly weather.

That’s something he’s seemingly taken in his stride, with Marca asking about how he has adapted to life in England and Leeds during an interview today.

“Honestly, I am very happy in Leeds and I like Leeds very much,” he told the newspaper.

“When I arrived, everyone told me that the sun doesn’t come out much here, it’s very windy, and today you can see that the day is not particularly sunny.

“But honestly, when my trainer and my children come here, we always talk about California because the sun comes out every day. And it seems that we are living in Barcelona and it’s having some incredible days.

“The truth is that I think it’s also inside me and I’m very happy here and I love Leeds. It’s quite windy in this area here and suddenly it rains and suddenly the sun comes out.

“In the end you always have to carry an umbrella in the car, which is very important, but it’s very nice, the countryside is incredible and when we win the matches, it’s even nicer.”
