Earlier today, we covered reports from Sweden which revealed Lucas Bergvall’s visit to Tottenham Hotspur.

It was said that in his latest trip to England, the player went to Spurs’ facilities, making the London side a clear contender for his signing from Djurgårdens IF.

Now it seems Tottenham have lost that race, though, as Mundo Deportivo writes that Bergvall is actually joining Barcelona.

The outlet writes that the player already arrived in the Catalan side to ‘finalise the move’.

Jijantes managed to film the player eating at a restaurant along with his family and Barcelona director Deco. It’s said he’d always been a priority for the club chief.

Mundo Deportivo points out the recent links between Bergvall and Tottenham, claiming Spurs tried to ‘boycott’ the player’s move to Barcelona, and says that it was the player who had a ‘firm’ wish to move to the Camp Nou side.

Other clubs such as Inter Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt were also believed to be in the race, but there’s now clear confidence that Barça have it wrapped up.
