Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to be credited with interest in Djurgårdens IF rising star Lucas Bergvall.

Earlier today, various outlets in the UK reported as much, and Swedish journalist Anel Avdić has also provided a short update.

On Monday, Avdić published a report on Expressen’s website about the midfielder’s trip to England, where he visited a Premier League side.

Earlier today, the journalist took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the 17-year-old visited Tottenham’s facilities during his latest trip to England.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have joined Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt in the chase for the youngster, who made his debut for Sweden earlier this month.

On January 19th, Fotball Direkt reported an unnamed Premier League side have stepped in to sign Bergvall with a bid of SEK 90m [€8m]. With the latest claims now talking about the player’s visit to Tottenham, it could be them who made that offer.

Djurgårdens IF sporting director Bosse Andersson confirmed he’s received offers for the youngster, but didn’t provide more details.

“Of course, I can confirm that we have good offers for Lucas Bergvall. There are a lot of good things, but nothing is yet finalised. No, we don’t feel any stress. We don’t have to close a deal before the transfer deadline,” he told Fotball Direkt.

The director has also confirmed both Djurgårdens IF and Bergvall are under pressure.

“It is clear that there is a pressure that affects all of us, both the player and as a club,” Andersson explained.

“It is clear that he lives under a lot of pressure, but at the same time I have to say how professionally both he and his family handle the situation. We are only human and it is impossible not to be affected by what is going on and has been for so long.”
