Sivasspor have completed the loan signing of Henri Saivet from Newcastle United, subject to the midfielder passing a medical.

The Senegalese midfielder landed in Turkey last night, and Fotomac say he went to his hotel in Istanbul, where he’ll have his medical before flying to Sivas.

Saivet’s move has certainly caused excitement amongst the Sivasspor fans after Newcastle player said: “Hi Yiğido” (Yiğido is the nickname of Sivasspor).

Saivet spoke to Sivasspor reporter at the airport with saying: “This is the first time I’ve been in Turkey. I am very happy. For me Robinho (the new signing of Sivasspor) is a brilliant player.

“I am pleased to have a chance to play alongside him. I want our fans to support us. Hopefully I can play good in the future.”

According to various Turkish reports, Sivasspor will also have a right of redemption on the Newcastle United player in the summer.

Saivet has only featured in one Premier League game this season and it was always thought the midfielder would leave Newcastle United, with French side Montpellier also showing an interest in the former Bordeaux player during the past few weeks.
