The Colombian media gives huge coverage of every step taken by James Rodriguez at Everton, and it gets no different when the midfielder is unable to play.

It’s now been over a month since the 29-year-old doesn’t feature for the Toffees, and still, his form continues being commented on in his home country.

This weekend, it was Teo Gutierrez, a former teammate at Colombia’s national team, who made some comments on Rodriguez’s issues at Goodison Park.

“Those who are there have to get together, we can’t put James to run,” Teo Gutierrez told ESPN Colombia (via Marca).

“We have to put him to play with the ball, let him enjoy himself. He’s lost his joy”

Meanwhile, the Colombian media follows James Rodriguez’s fitness issues very closely. They’ve been calling it ‘mysterious’ for quite a while, and have now been following all of Carlo Ancelotti’s press conferences so they can get more details on how the midfielder’s recovery has been going.

With the World Cup Qualifiers in South America being postponed due to the pandemic, there’ll be a little less drama with Rodriguez not missing out on the fixtures which should’ve been played this week.
