Everton forward Henry Onyekuru has told the Turkish media the dream of playing in the Premier League was the reason why he chose to sign for Everton over PSG.

The youngster has yet to make his debut for Everton due to work permit problems, 12 months after leaving Eupen to sign for the club.

Haberturk have reported in comments Onyekuru made to Bein Sports Turkey: “Before I signed for Everton, I went for a medical with PSG. Of course PSG are a great club, but the biggest dream since my childhood was to play in the Premier League.”

Onyekuru has been sent to Galatasaray for the season due to his continuing issues over a work permit.

Last season the 21 year old was loaned out to Belgian side Anderlecht by the Merseyside club and it soon became apparent they’d would have to lease him to another club this summer.

Anderlecht wanted the player again, and came to an agreement with the Toffees, but Onyekuru fell out with the Belgian club over his return from injury, feeling they held him back and cost him a place at the World Cup with Nigeria.

Given his comments it seems the player still wants a future with Everton and a chance to play in the Premier League.
