There’s good and bad news in Spain on Saturday concerning Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Vicente Guaita.

First up there’s Marca who say Guaita has a ‘succulent’ offer on the table from Crystal Palace, which is making him want to leave Getafe as quickly as he can.

Then they state talks over a transfer fee haven’t yet got anywhere, and Getafe’s manager José Bordalás believes he has a ‘guarantee’ from the club that the goalkeeper won’t leave before the end of the season.

Over at Mundo Deportivo it’s slightly more positive, and in a little snippet tucked in on page 23 the Spanish newspaper claim Getafe president Angel Torres is now softening his stance.

After first demanding the player’s full €8m release clause, it’s stated the Getafe chief has now ‘agreed to lower it’.

Therefore, Mundo Deportivo think a transfer is closing in and Guaita will be able to double his wages with a move to Crystal Palace this month.

There’s clearly different opinions in Spain, and perhaps even at Getafe, about this potential transfer, and there’s likely to be more claims over the next few days.
