Signed by Montpellier back in 2020, Jonas Omlin has often been present between the sticks in the south of France.

His performances and stature haven’t gone unnoticed on these shores, either, with rumours claiming that Leicester City are keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

Making do with Danny Ward for now after selling Kasper Schmeichel to OGC Nice, it seems unlikely the Foxes will rely on the 29-year-old at the King Power Stadium forever, especially with 22 goals conceded in seven league games to date.

Omlin could be the solution to this issue, but that will entirely depend on Leicester and whether they make a move in the near future.

Until then, the 28-year-old will continue to work hard for Montpellier in Ligue 1, and, speaking to Transfermarkt in Germany, he gave his two cents on the Foxes rumours.

He said: “Actually, this is always quite funny, because my teammates always know before me what very hot transfer market rumours are being talked about. I’m always completely taken aback by all the conversations I’ve had.

“It’s clear that, at some point, I would like to play in one of the top four leagues. However, there’s a long way to go and until then, then it’s my duty to put all my energy into every game for Montpellier.”

Leicester City are set to face Nottingham Forest on Monday night, giving Brendan Rodgers to pick up his first win of the season against a fellow struggling team, as the 20th positioned team welcome those just above them in the Premier League for a bottom of the table six-pointer.
