Bild report on Friday that Erik Durm is ‘probably’ saying a final goodbye to Borussia Dortmund after five years with the Bundesliga club.

Clearly working on good information they’ve been given, the German newspaper say Huddersfield Town are ‘hot’ on the player, and the potential transfer is being led by David Wagner.

Wagner worked with Durm when the 26 year old was making his way through the Borussia Dortmund II side and Huddersfield’s boss was in charge of the team.

Saying ‘Wagner wants Durm’, Bild state the 2014 World Cup winner ‘stands before’ a transfer to the Terriers.

Injuries saw Durm see last season as a write-off and he hasn’t played since May 2017, so any move would obviously be a risk for Huddersfield Town.

Bild explain that Durm is now fully fit and ready to start preseason training, it’s claimed he’ll hope Wagner can get him back to his best.

There’s no mention of a transfer fee and that’s now for the clubs to agree.

Durm is a versatile player. Primarily a right back, he can also play on the left, and was a forward earlier in his career.
