Perhaps one of the biggest flops in Liverpool’s recent history, Lazar Markovic was allowed to join Fulham on a free in January, putting an end to his time at Anfield permanently.

Bought for £22.5m from Benfica back in 2014, the Serbian winger never managed to make it on Merseyside, and has similarly struggled at Craven Cottage over the past few months.

Making just one appearance since his move (a 44 minute cameo in a 3-1 loss to West Ham), Markovic’s six month contract is due to expire in June, and Fulham won’t be extending it.

This is according to Voetbalkrant in Belgium, who go on to explain the 25-year-old, following his exit from the London club, will be offered to the top clubs in the Jupiler Pro League, which includes Anderlecht.

Perhaps enjoying his best spell in recent years with the Belgian side, Markovic could land on his feet quickly, although his former club won’t be jumping at the chance just yet.

First, Anderlecht want to sort out their managerial position, and only then will the Serbian’s case be looked at.

The club’s technical director, Michael Verschueren is expected to hold an appointment with the Fulham forward’s entourage next week.
