Fulham have entered the picture to sign Rennes’ Hamari Traoré in the winter market.

The right-back has a contract expiring at the end of this season and AS Roma recently tested the ground to find out the possibility of taking him this month.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who state the Serie A side will have to face serious competition from Fulham in the race for the 30-year-old’s signature.

It’s explained Marco Silva’s side want to recruit the Mali international in January and have already made an offer between €3m and €4m. Taking the duration left on the fullback’s contract into account, this is a ‘nice sum’.

The report adds Fulham’s proposal can ‘certainly satisfy’ the French club as it will allow them to earn money rather than letting Traoré leave for free after this season.

At the same time, a move to Fulham would allow the defender to have an opportunity to play in the Premier League.

Traoré captained Rennes in 20 of the 21 matches he has played for them this season.
