Since his move to Manchester United, the French press cannot stop talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but not solely because of his performances for the Premier League club.
While it might seem like a ridiculous comparison to make, the Swede’s departure appears to have had a similar effect to Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement at Manchester United.
You might scoff at this, but Ryad Boudebouz, Montpellier’s forward, explained to Canal+, relayed by Canal Supporters, that Zlatan leaving has given everyone else in the league a boost.
He said: “Ibrahimovic’s departure has made PSG more fragile. When he was here, they were way more impressive. These days, Paris are doubting themselves a bit, and the teams are less scared, we go at them and they don’t like it.
“That’s it, you need to bully this Paris team. They’re talented players, if you let them play, you concede three or four.”
Does this sound familiar, Manchester United fans?
At least Paris Saint-Germain don’t have David Moyes as their new manager.
