Manchester United are in the picture to sign Leicester City star Youri Tielemans in the summer.
On Thursday, both Het Nieuwsblad and Gazet van Antwerpen reported the Red Devils are looking at the midfielder and the Foxes could be convinced if they were to receive a fee of around €40m.
The ex-Anderlecht man has less than 18 months left on his contract and both newspapers reported renewal talks with Brendan Rodgers’ side ‘came to nothing’.
Claims made by the two newspapers are further backed up by another outlet, Het Laatste Nieuws.
It’s said the 24-year-old ‘does not want to sign’ a new deal at the King Power Stadium and wants to move elsewhere after this season. Leicester, for their part, are hoping to collect €50m from the Belgium international’s sale.
The options for Tielemans are limited because of the price tag set by Leicester. One of the options for him is United and HLN state the Old Trafford club have been ‘following him for years’.
Ralf Rangnick is United’s interim manager until the end of the season and a permanent coach will be appointed in the summer.
The report states a potential approach from Manchester United for the Leicester player will likely depend on their new manager.
