Djurgarden defender Felix Beijmo has confirmed to the Swedish media that he’s been in talks with a Premier League club.
The youngster was linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last window, and that coincided with the club appointing Gary Goodchild as their head scout in Scandinavia.
Speaking to Mitti, Beijmo was asked about interest from England and in particular the Premier League: “That’s right and they showed a real interest. We have had some negotiations and it is flattering, but I’m not finished with Djurgarden yet.”
During the last window we covered reports from Sweden that Wolves held ‘intensive’ talks to sign Beijmo, but a deal never materialised.
It seemed the Championship side had other priorities to strengthen their squad, and subsequently pulled out.
There have been no further reports whether Wolves will go back in for the young Swede this summer, but it seems the player will be remaining judging by his comments.
The 19 year old only joined Djurgarden last March, and is contracted to the Swedish club until 2020.
