According to a claim in the Italian media, Lazio are showing an interest in Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

The Italian joined Southampton from Napoli last year, but has struggled in his second season in England.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has today reported Lazio are the latest club to be linked with Gabbiadini after reports Bologna are also interested.

It’s claimed Lazio are one of the clubs showing the most serious interest in Gabbiadini, and could now be set for talks with Southampton. A meeting is said to be ‘on the agenda’.

When Gabbiadini joined Southampton in January 2017 there were promising signs. The player scored on his debut against West Ham, and then followed this up with two goals in the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester United.

However, the goals have dried up this season, and the Italy international has found the net just four times in 24 Premier League games.

A return to Italy looks a possibility in the summer, and a chance to get his career back on track.
