Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s February purple patch saw many of the club’s fans demand a Leeds United effort to keep him at Elland Road beyond the end of the season.
With Hamburg currently hurtling towards relegation from the Bundesliga, an exit looks very likely indeed and that would give Leeds an opportunity to for a permanent deal.
However, with Lasogga not scoring a goal in his last 5 appearances, any attempt would surely be dependent on seeing better before the season is out.
But in Germany it’s been repeatedly reported there’s interest from elsewhere in England, with clubs towards the lower half of the Premier League said to have taken notice.
Fussball News cover that again this weekend and say Lasogga’s name is ‘in the notebooks’ of some sides in England’s top division.
For the player that would be a boost and Lasogga is quoted as saying, about playing in the Premier League: “Maybe a childhood dream will come true.”
Leeds United’s own chances of promotion are now pretty much dead.
