Ah, Isco.
Of all the sagas Don Balon run, their Isco to Manchester City is perhaps the one they love the most. If Isco is in a bad patch, Pep Guardiola can rescue him, and if things are going well, that only makes City more determined to make the signing.
For every Isco situation, Don Balon have a Manchester City rumour, and more besides.
Half of Guardiola’s squad (we’d call that an exaggeration but it’d probably be right) have been linked as potential part payments for the player, and now Don Balon say Pep has a ‘final offer’.
We’d bet anything, money, children, skin, that it won’t be the ‘final offer’ Don Balon push, but let’s go with it anyway.
Even on top of that, Manchester City would offer a ‘large amount of money’.
Ha-de-hah.
At this point it’s worth pointing out there’s an argument to be made that 23 year old Bernardo has been above the level of 26 year old Isco this season.
What next? Swapping Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne and Moonchester all for the Spanish international… we jest, but perhaps we shouldn’t give Don Balon ideas.
