If there is one player out there that could do a world of good at Liverpool, it’s Giorgio Scalvini, currently contracted to Atalanta.

That’s because the young defender can also play in front of the back four, meaning his versatility could help Jürgen Klopp should injury problems happen again in the next campaign.

He won’t come cheap, though, with many, including Calciomercato, believing it would take ‘at least €40m’ to convince the Serie A side to sell, which gives Liverpool an advantage.

That’s because unlike the more reputable Italian clubs, they don’t have a problem with money, at least not to the point where Scalvini’s value would bother them too much.

Sure, Liverpool aren’t willing to throw €150m at Borussia Dortmund for Jude Bellingham, but they would spend money on a player potentially capable of killing two birds with one stone.

Calciomercato explain the Reds are one of many clubs who have the 19-year-old at ‘the top of their watchlist’, despite him being under contract until 2027.

As for the interested parties, Inter Milan and Juventus have budget problems, while AC Milan, Napoli and AS Roma would only move if they can sell someone first.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool, on the other hand, ‘do not have these problems’, and ‘if they decide to sink the blow’, could then take away ‘the most promising young defender’ in Italian football.
