David Luiz returned to Chelsea from Paris-Saint Germain on deadline day in a move that surprised many.
The Brazilian defender signed for Chelsea in a €32m deal, after Chelsea failed to sign any of their primary targets.
L’Equipe say Paris-Saint Germain’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, was worried Luiz would cause trouble in the dressing room if he was kept against his wishes at the club.
However, Patrick Kluivert, director of football, wasn’t really keen on allowing him to leave as Paris-Saint Germain are now left with just three established central defenders at the club.
There seems to be some disagreement between Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Patrick Kluivert, and L’Equipe’s story is mostly based on that.
PSG have an excellent young option in 21 year old Presnel Kimpembe, and Serge Aurier can also play in central defence if needed, they should be able to cope.
