Since his sacking from Wolverhampton Wanderers in October last year, Portuguese manager Bruno Lage is still to find a new club to work at.

The 46-year-old certainly received some approaches in this mean time, but hasn’t been convinced to take charge of project so far.

It turns out that as Flamengo dedicated website Gávea News now talks about their hunt for a new manager, they report the ‘campaign’ their fans have been doing for them to sign the former Wolves boss.

The outlet points out that supporters of the Rio de Janeiro side have been using the #BrunoLageSim hashtag and made several comments on his social media accounts asking him to take the job.

That’s interesting because Flamengo have been in talks with even more renowned coaches such as Jorge Jesus and Jorge Sampaoli.

So the fans may be seeing something very special on what Lage did at Benfica and Wolves.

The coach took charge of the English side at the start of the 2021/2022 season and got sacked in the first months of 2022/2023. His record at Molineux was of 19 wins, nine draws and 23 defeats in 51 games.
