There might still be a glimmer of hope for Afriyie Acquah’s transfer to Birmingham City after all, but we wouldn’t recommend jumping for joy just yet.

On Tuesday evening, Harry Redknapp admitted the deal was on the rocks after various reports from Italy suggested it could be off due to Sinisa Mihajlovic’s doubts about letting the midfielder leave.

However, Sport Witness has learned from a source close to the deal that Acquah’s move to St Andrew’s hasn’t entirely collapsed, but has just ‘stalled’.

For now, Torino and Birmingham City still haven’t come to an agreement on the transfer’s terms, but we are in a position to confirm the situation regarding Bologna’s Godfred Donsah, Torino’s potential replacement for the player, is not impacting the Ghanian’s move to the Midlands.

We’ll have to wait and see if the situation unblocks itself in the near future, but whether that happens ‘is a matter between the clubs’.

Could a little bit more money help that?
