Following claims Leeds United are interested in signing Mbaye Diagne, Kasimpasa sporting director Nursal Bilgin has spoken to Sport Witness about the situation.

The 26-year old striker is under contract at Kasimpasa until the end of next season, but Bilgin has confirmed there’s an option to extend this for a further campaign.

“Mbaye is our player at the moment,’ explained the director. “He’s contracted to us for one more season and we have an option to extend it further. At the moment, there are no written offers that have come in to us.”

That last part could be significant and a transfer hasn’t been completely ruled out.

Earlier this week it was claimed in the English press that Leeds United are interested in the Senegalese forward and could move in on the player in this transfer window.

It was also reported Leeds United could face competition from Championship rivals Hull City.

Diagne impressed for Kasimpasa last season after he joined the Turkish Super Lig club midway through the season. The player made 17 appearances for the Turkish club, scoring 9 goals.
