Brighton & Hove Albion are completing the signing of Libertad wonderkid Julio Enciso.

The transfer was confirmed by Ruben di Tore, president of the Paraguayan club, in a chat with Versus Radio today.

“Yes, it was made concrete, the papers still need to be signed, but everything is already closed. It’s the biggest club-to-club transfer in Paraguayan football,” revealed di Tore.

The transfer is also reported by Universo journalist Andrés Rolon, who brings a few more details about the agreement.

He claims that this is a ‘record’ sale for Libertad, who will make over US$12m (£9.5m) with the transfer and still have a percentage of a future move.

According to Rolon, the player is travelling to England next week along with Libertad vice-president Jorge De Los Rios and agent Pedro Aldave.

Brighton’s interest in Enciso was never a secret, as back in January there had been many public comments in Paraguay regarding the Seagulls’ failed attempt to land the 18-year-old.

Playing for Libertad this season, the youngster had an impressive record of 11 goals and three assists in 17 appearances. Given his games for Paraguay and also in the Copa Libertadores, a work permit should not be an issue.
