Everton are showing interest in signing Atlético Madrid’s Renan Lodi.

The La Liga side allowed the left-back to join Nottingham Forest on loan last summer. He’s made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Nottingham Forest have an option to make the 24-year-old’s stay permanent for €30m, but they don’t intend to exercise this. That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state Everton have been made aware of the situation.

Sean Dyche’s side are ‘interested in taking over the services’ of the Atlético owned player after getting to know Nottingham Forest’s plans for Lodi. Los Rojiblancos would be open to negotiating with the Toffees to lower the fee.

It’s further explained Everton would be ‘willing to make a competitive offer’ for him. Their interest in Lodi is a ‘clear sign’ of their ambitious project under Dyche.

Vitaliy Mykolenko and Rúben Vinagre [on loan from Sporting] are currently the two left-backs at Goodison Park. Dyche wants to reinforce the squad with top-level players and the Brazil international is identified as a target for the left side of defence.

Everton won’t have it easy to sign Lodi due to other clubs’ interest in him. Fichajes.net don’t specify any teams but Everton need to be wary of the competition they will face to acquire the South American’s signature.
