Everton and West Ham are among the clubs credited with interest in Hamburg’s Bobby Wood, according to SportBild. The US international is having a good season and, naturally, that’s caught the attention of a few clubs.
What has probably also caught their attention is the 25 year old’s interesting clause situation. Hamburg will be hopeful they can stay up, but relegation from the Bundesliga would mean Wood can leave this summer for just €5m. Should Hamburg remain where they are then Wood’s release clause is €12m.
It would be hard to imagine the forward leading the line for either Everton or West Ham, but German magazine SportBild say both clubs are interested in Wood. He could well be a squad option for Ronald Koeman and Slavan Bilic, because the links would seem slightly too random to have been plucked from thin air.
It’s likely both Everton and West Ham will be looking to add in their forward department during the next window, and Wood’s cheap price, ability to play anywhere across the front and wide, could be a temptation.
