Sead Haksabanovic had a two-year stint at Celtic between 2022 and 2024.
While he spent the second season on loan at Stoke City, his time in Glasgow saw the 25-year-old score five times in the league. However, he didn’t quite find a starting spot in the side.
Now at Malmo, the winger has played four times in all competitions and at the weekend he came up with a spectacular assist in a Swedish Cup game against Vasteras.
He spoke to the press after the game and was asked about his experience since leaving Celtic.
Haksabanovic said, as relayed by Fotbollskanalen: “I still feel that I need more matches, because it’s a ping-pong ball when you come in. But we’re taking it slowly but surely. I feel that I’m on my way to a good point, where I want to be, and we’re keeping the same plan with the leaders and coaching staff.”
It is only natural for the winger to take his time before playing regularly because he was injured after his stint at Celtic.
He also revealed his need to play more often and gain more game time.
“I want to be involved more, and want to do more than I do. But it comes with the lungs and the match tempo, with matches in the legs. Then I can be more involved there.”
The next few weeks could determine where Haksabanovic really is from a skillset, ability and fitness standpoint.
He couldn’t really make much of an impact at Celtic and showed signs of inconsistency, despite not being injured during his time in Glasgow.
