It’s very unlikely either Nottingham Forest or Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to appoint a new manager in the foreseeable future.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been a revelation since arriving at Nottingham Forest and the appreciation around him at the club isn’t only related to the team’s achievements on the pitch. His personality fits well and there’s a genuine bond between the manager and supporters, so it would be an almighty shock if he goes anywhere.

Down at Brighton, Fabian Hürzeler hasn’t quite achieved the same level for the Seagulls yet but the club clearly see something special in the manager.

Agent Jiří Müller has been speaking to Czech newspaper iDNES, and one of the topics was his client Jindřich Trpišovský and a suggestion from some the manager may be ‘afraid’ of accepting a job in English football.

Trpišovský has been in charge of Slavia Prague since 2017, winning the league three times and having four successes in the cup.

His contract with Slavia ends next summer, and the agent was asked about Brighton wanting the manager last summer and Nottingham Forest doing so before that.

Jiří Müller then mentioned late super-agent Mino Raiola and his attempts to convince Trpišovský to move to England.

iDNES quote him as saying: “Personally, it would be incredibly tempting for me. And now… Damn, I swore I wouldn’t talk about him because I’m sad that he’s no longer here.”

iDNES knew what he was referring to and pressed: “Do you mean Mino Raiola, the great agent you were close to?”

Müller answered: “When Pavel Nedvěd was at Juventus, Mino was convinced that Jindra would fit into his club puzzle. It didn’t work out. Then Nottingham called and Mino tried again: Jindra, this is exactly your chance, your life’s mission.”

On whether the manager turned Nottingham Forest down due to fear, the agent said: “Slavia was closer to him, which we had to respect. Only Mino didn’t forgive himself the remark: Nottingham Forest is a world brand, and if you return them to the Premier League, it will be a thousand times greater success than winning the title three times in a row with Slavia. And he didn’t want to reduce the quality of the Czech league by doing so. Anyway, look at the Premier League table.”

Jindřich Trpišovský is clearly a name on the list at both clubs, so an option to keep in mind for the future.
