Everton’s Turkish striker Cenk Tosun was injured during Turkey’s friendly win against Greece last weekend and he was substituted in the 55th minute.

As reported by Star, Tosun will be out for at least a month and the 27 year old is now in Istanbul waiting for further examinations.

It’s claimed he may have damaged his lateral knee ligaments and could spend a significant time on the sidelines.

The Turkish striker scored just 4 goals for Everton in all competitions last season and his future at Goodison Park is unclear. He struggled to get games under Marco Silva during the last campaign leading to speculation he could leave the club in the summer transfer window.

He’s been strongly linked with a return to Turkey, with his former club Besiktas said to be interested in him. The Super Lig club are looking to loan the forward but they could face competition from Germany.
