With Everton being desperate for late signings and Nicolo Zaniolo still trying to find a way out of Roma, it seems the two parties finally met each other.

According to an exclusive report from Sport Italia, the Toffees are making an attempt to sign the Giallorossi midfielder.

It’s claimed that with less than an hour for the deadline of incoming transfers in Italy, Roma could end up losing Zaniolo to Everton, who are ‘attempting’ the signing.

To avoid ending up empty-handed, the Giallorossi are now said to be in talks with Sassuolo for the arrival of Davide Frattesi.

Sport Italia do not bring any more details on Everton’s effort, and it’s not yet clear if Sean Dyche’s side will try to sign Zaniolo on a loan or a permanent move.

We should also recall that the player recently turned down a move to Bournemouth, and then reportedly had a change of heart when it was too late.

As Everton continue their quest for late signings, they’re now also linked to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims there’s been contact with Chelsea for the signing. However, that’s a similar case, as a deal is labelled as ‘complicated’ because the striker doesn’t want to go ‘anywhere’.

On top of that, he’s also played for two clubs this season so a transfer would look against regulations.
