It’s no news that the Portuguese press has been doing big coverage of the Championship, mostly because of the Portuguese managers and players at Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And now as the two clubs will face each other, we couldn’t expect less than a full page story with a nice match preview.

O Jogo push it today, explaining the form that both clubs have been in, which is quite the opposite from each other.

Besides reporting Wolves’ unbeaten form for seven games, they take the news from the English press to say Carlos Carvalhal could be sacked in case of a defeat.

There’s also some interesting information on the managers’ past. Even though they have never faced each other as team bosses, this won’t be the first game with both involved.

In the 2007/08 season, when Nuno Espírito Santo was still an FC Porto goalkeeper, he played against Carlos Carvalhal’s Vitória de Setúbal both for the league and the cup. Porto won both matches.

There’s obviously also a paragraph for the eleven Portuguese players who belong to Sheffield Wednesday or Wolverhampton this season. O Jogo shows that except for the leagues of Andorra and Luxemburg, Wolves are the squad with most Portuguese players in a foreign league, as they have Rúben Neves, Diogo Jota, Hélder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro, Rúben Vinagre and Roderick Miranda.

Meanwhile, the Owls count on Lucas João, Marco Matias and Frederico Venâncio.
