Dutch giants Ajax beat PAOK to reach the play-offs of the Champions League.

The Eredivisie side will now reassess the transfer market, and they could try to sign Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli.

Earlier, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported Ajax have been interested in signing Balotelli for a long time now, and have also contacted his agent Mino Raiola.

Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio was the first to report Ajax’s interest in Balotelli, but claimed a deal would only be posssible should Ajax qualify for the Champions League.

Now Di Marzio reports Ajax are ready to explore the possibility of signing Balotelli. The Eredivisie giants have set their eyes on the Italian striker.

Di Marzio says Ajax are now one step closer to Champions League group stages, and the possibility of signing Mario Balotelli.

Liverpool are desperate to offload the Italian striker this summer, and it’s very likely they’ll consider any offer that arrives on their table.
