Cristiano Ronaldo failed in his efforts to get a move away from Manchester United in the last window, even though he was linked to a few clubs, with Napoli among them.

Various reports from Italy discussed a swap deal, plus cash, involving with the forward and Victor Osimhen, but no exchange came remotely close to taking place.

On Monday, the striker’s agent revealed his client’s desire was to continue with the Serie A side amid the ‘fuss’ and ‘other interests’ that came out in the summer. Area Napoli suggested this was related to the swap deal involving his client and the Manchester United star.

A member of the Nigeria international’s entourage, Oma Akatugba, has now backed up the 23-year-old wanting to continue with Luciano Spalletti’s side. He also talked about the Red Devils and the efforts made by them in the summer.

“He wants to win at Napoli and do everything possible to bring trophies to Napoli, writing his name in the history of the Azzurri,” Akatugba told Calciomercato.it’s TV PLAY.

“Clearly, Victor attracts big European clubs, as happened for Lavezzi or Cavani. He has never expressed an interest in leaving, not even when Manchester United arrived: when he leaves, they will all be happy because there will be a lot of money in De Laurentiis’ account.”

With regards to the frontman’s €100m valuation, Akatugba explained: “I have changed my mind, right now it is not difficult to imagine that it is an affordable figure for several clubs and that De Laurentiis can sell him even at higher figures.”

Manchester United and other clubs are aware they will have to invest big in order to take the attacker away from Napoli.

Osimhen has four goals and an assist from eight matches in all competitions this season.
