This afternoon German newspaper Bild had a run down, club by club, of potential Bundesliga transfer business which could still be completed.

When it came to RB Leipzig, it’s no surprise to see the man mentioned was Ademola Lookman.

The German club have been trying to sign Lookman all summer, having had him on loan from Everton last season.

There was a belief that a deal could be done, but instead of Everton softening their stance on the player as time has gone on, the Toffees have become even firmer.

RB Leipzig were at one stage waiting for the price to come down, not wanting to part with €18m, but the price went the other way.

Bild report that Leipzig became prepared to pay €25m for a late deal, much more than it was previously thought they’d have to part with. But that offer has been knocked back, and Bild say Everton required more than €30m.

Kicker state that Leipzig will now have to ‘bury’ their hopes of signing the player, with Marco Silva making the situation clear in his Friday press conference.
