Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo has been warned about a potential move to Bournemouth, with the Cherries keen on his signature this month.

The Italian has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho at Roma in recent weeks, leading to speculation that he could be sold before Tuesday’s deadline.

Bournemouth have been named as surprise contenders this week, with reports in Italy and England making it clear they are ready to pay for him.

Indeed, we covered a report last night that stated Bournemouth were meeting with the player’s agent to hold talks and try and convince him on the move.

The belief, at the moment, is that Zaniolo is not keen on the move to the South Coast, particularly as he has also been linked with the likes of Tottenham this month.

The transfer would certainly be a coup for the Cherries if they can pull it off, but Zaniolo has been warned to think twice about it

“It’s not a good situation. He’s a talent but he’s a bit of a peculiar guy,” Massimo Orlando told TMW radio, relayed by Milan News.

“Money always makes a difference, but going to Bournemouth, with all due respect… I would think hard about it.

“It’s very physical football, I would think well about it for someone like him who has had those two injuries there.

“If he stays at Roma, he’s in a bad way. He could spend five or six hellish months in the capital, if you let it be perceived that you want to leave.

“Zaniolo plays alone, not with the team. With Roma and with Mourinho he has no chance to improve. Elsewhere, perhaps with someone like Conte, he can do it.”
