Sevilla are eyeing a move for Bournemouth’s Hamed Traore, but the proposal will need to be ‘closely scrutinised’ before being signed off in January.

That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who provide a Sevilla based opinion on the matter after the Bournemouth man was linked by journalist Gianluca di Marzio.

He reported last week that Sevilla were eying a loan deal for Traore, who joined Bournemouth on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window but has barely featured under Andoni Iraola to date.

That’s opened up the possibility of a loan deal being secured for him in the coming weeks and Sevilla were looking into it as they need to bolster their options.

La Colina de Nervión explain that Traore’s ability to play both as a winger and a number nine would be a benefit to Sevilla as it would help improve Quique Sánchez Flores’ options up front considerably.

However, the possible arrival of the Bournemouth man would ‘have a drawback’ and that’s his prominence for his national team.

He’s a permanent fixture for his country and will be in the Ivorian squad for the Africa Cup of Nations when they kick off next month.

Thus, any potential move would have to be ‘closely scrutinised’ by Sevilla as they are also set to lose striker Youssef En-Nesyri during the tournament.

The Bournemouth man’s qualities ‘could compensate’ for that but it’s something Sevilla, and director of football Victor Orta, need to weigh up before making their move.
