Birmingham City aren’t messing around this transfer window, and it seems Harry Redknapp’s reputation of being a “wheeler-dealer”, even if he doesn’t like it, is still strong.

According to Ouest-France, the Championship club have been looking at buying a new right-back, and one of their targets was Lorient’s Steven Moreira.

The 23-year-old was previously a target for Huddersfield in the Premier League, yet no deal was reached because the Ligue 2 side weren’t all that interested in selling.

Unfortunately for Harry Redknapp and Birmingham City, the French newspaper report via their Twitter account that the Blues have met a similar fate, being told the defender is not for sale.

The door for an exit is allegedly ‘totally closed’, and there’ no chance of it reopening before the end of the window.

Steven Moreira has been ever present for his club so far this season, playing every single minute of every single game, helping out with one goal in seven appearances.
