Gianluca Scamacca finished his debut season at West Ham United with eight goals from 27 games.

The striker has been sidelined with a knee injury since March but that hasn’t stopped reports stating that he fancies a move back to Serie A.

AC Milan have been named as one of his suitors but Sky Italia state the West Ham player favours a move to AS Roma.

It’s claimed the 24-year-old has given his approval to join José Mourinho’s side in the summer and this gives them an advantage over Milan in the transfer race.

After receiving the Italy international’s ‘go ahead’, it’s the Giallorossi’s turn to take advantage and try to close his signing on a loan deal.

Sky Italia state Roma director Tiago Pinto will ‘fly to London’ in the next few days to hold talks with David Moyes’ side and also the player’s agent. That trip to England could happen before the weekend.

Roma are working to give Mourinho a new striker next season. It remains to be seen whether that’ll be Scamacca or another player.
