Fotospor report Fenerbahce aren’t looking to sell their forward Michael Frey in this transfer window after he was linked with a move to Leeds United.

In the past week there has been speculation over the future of the Swiss striker, and, along with Leeds United, Belgian side Anderlecht are also said to be interested.

Despite the interest in Frey, Fenerbahce intend to keep him at the club for next season and the Turkish club’s sporting director Damien Comolli believes the player could be worth much more in the future if he performs well in the next campaign.

Fenerbahce paid €2.5m to sign Frey last summer from Zurich, but the Swiss striker’s first season with the Super Lig club hasn’t gone well due to injuries and a lack of form.

This has led to reports Leeds United are looking to come in for the player, and it’s claimed they’ve made an offer to sign him. However, Comolli believes if the attacker can return to form, he could be worth €20m in a couple of seasons.

That’s one way to spin it.

Frey scored just score 5 goals for the club in 22 appearances for Fener last season and he is under contract at Ulker Arena until June 2022.
