It appears that Manchester City are about to get some of their players out on loan back in the summer, meaning they will have to decide what they want to do with them.
One of those will be Issa Kaboré, who was sent to Marseille for the season in Ligue 1 with an option to buy at €20m attached in the deal, which will not be triggered, according to La Minute OM.
The Manchester City player has mostly played backup to Jonathan Clauss throughout the campaign, but had found a bit more time on the pitch of late.
There was therefore some hope he could stick around, but it seems the price pre-agreed by the two parties is now a bit steep for the French club.

It’s stated that Kaboré ‘will return’ to Manchester City once the season ends, and the €20m option to buy ‘will not be lifted’.
That doesn’t mean he couldn’t end back up at Marseille, though, as ‘the possibility to see him come back for an inferior price remains possible’.
However, this isn’t something that will be done now, as those in charge of such matters will look into it after the season ends, with Marseille currently fighting for a Champions League spot in Ligue 1, sitting five points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
